What it does

Claude Code Workflows is a set of development recipes that keep Claude Code's deep exploration pointed at an agreed outcome. On non-trivial work Claude can wander into a real side finding and leave the requested change vague; these workflows fix the scope and exclusions before design, check designs against the repository, verify each task before commit, and run an independent review of the finished implementation on larger changes. The intended use is when a change needs scope agreement, durable design decisions, a reliable handoff between contexts, or independent verification, rather than for throwaway prototypes.

What is inside

The marketplace offers workflow plugins (dev-workflows for backend or general work, dev-workflows-frontend for React and TypeScript, and dev-workflows-fullstack combining both) plus a lighter dev-skills plugin with just the guidance. Entry points use a recipe- prefix: /recipe-implement, /recipe-design, /recipe-plan, /recipe-build, /recipe-review, /recipe-diagnose, /recipe-reverse-engineer, and frontend equivalents. Behind them sit specialized agents such as requirement-analyzer, codebase-analyzer, work-planner, task-decomposer, code-reviewer, security-reviewer, and quality-fixer, along with skills for coding, testing, documentation, and external-resource context. The workflow routes by the number of product and design decisions, not file count, and each task cites the design decisions and acceptance criteria that constrain it so decisions survive fresh contexts.

Works with

Claude Code, via its plugin marketplace. A separate project, codex-workflows, adapts the same model to the Codex CLI.

Maintenance and safety

MIT licensed and actively maintained. The plugins run Claude Code's own tools within your approved scope and treat plan files under docs/plans/ as ephemeral working state. Install only one workflow plugin at a time to avoid duplicate skill descriptions.
