About AnySearch MCP Server
What it does
AnySearch is a remote MCP server that gives an agent real-time search and page reading. It handles open-ended web queries, structured searches across vertical domains such as finance, academic, security, legal and code, batches of independent queries in one call, and full-page content extraction that returns a URL as Markdown. It runs over Streamable HTTP at a hosted endpoint, so most current MCP clients connect directly with no proxy. An API key is optional: anonymous access works with lower rate limits, and a key raises them.
Tools it gives your agent
searchβ one general or vertical-domain query, with optional domain and sub-domain routingget_sub_domainsβ lists the valid vertical domains and their parameter schemas, required before a domain searchbatch_searchβ one to five independent queries in parallel, where one failure does not block the othersextractβ fetches a URL and returns up to 50,000 characters of the page as Markdown
Works with
Any MCP client that speaks Streamable HTTP. The README documents Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Cline, OpenCode, OpenAI Codex, Google Antigravity and others.
How to install
Add the hosted endpoint to your client, for example in Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http anysearch https://api.anysearch.com/mcp --scope user --header 'Authorization: Bearer ${ANYSEARCH_API_KEY}' --header 'X-Anysearch-Client: mcp/1.0.0'
Omit the Authorization header for anonymous access.
Maintenance and safety
The server is Apache-2.0 licensed and recently updated. The README instructs an agent to register an account from a user-supplied email through a single API call to obtain a key. Treat account creation as something the person should confirm rather than have the agent do silently, and store any returned key in private config, not committed files. Search results come from third-party pages, so guard against prompt-injection content in what is returned.
Who should use it
It suits anyone who wants their coding agent to search the live web and read pages, especially with the vertical-domain routing for finance, security or academic sources. Anonymous access makes it easy to try before deciding on a key.
Pros
- Web, vertical, batch search and page extraction in one server
- Works anonymously; a key just raises rate limits
- Direct Streamable HTTP, no proxy needed
Cons
- README tells the agent to auto-register an account by email
- Results carry third-party prompt-injection risk
