What it does

Zapier MCP connects AI clients to Zapier's catalogue of more than 9,000 apps, so an agent can take real actions such as posting to Slack, adding a row to Google Sheets, creating a HubSpot contact or starting a workflow. You describe what you want in plain English, and there is no integration code to write. Zapier hosts the server, stores the app credentials and logs every action. The zapier/zapier-mcp repository is MIT licensed. It holds the client plugins, with onboarding and role-based skills, not the server itself.

Tools it gives your agent

• discover_zapier_actions and enable_zapier_action, to find an app action and switch it on from inside the chat
• The app actions you enable, such as sending messages, creating tasks or records, searching data or triggering Zaps
• Actions for apps already connected to your Zapier account, which are switched on automatically when the server is created

Works with

It is a hosted server using Streamable HTTP at https://mcp.zapier.com/api/v1/connect. Zapier's docs cover Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot CLI, Gemini CLI and Kiro, plus other clients and Python or TypeScript code.

How to connect

In most clients, add Zapier as a connector and sign in with OAuth. Zapier creates and configures your server during sign-in. For Gemini CLI:

Then run /mcp auth zapier. Claude Code users can install the plugin from the zapier/marketplace plugin marketplace.

Cost and limits

Zapier MCP comes with every Zapier plan and has no separate price. Each successful tool call uses two tasks from your plan, and failed calls are free. At the time of writing (September 2026), the Free plan includes 100 tasks a month, which is about 50 MCP calls. Professional starts at $19.99 a month, billed annually, for 750 tasks.

Safety notes

You choose which apps and actions the agent can use, and every call appears in your Zapier History. Zapier states it is SOC 2 Type II certified. Admins can restrict access at the account level, and managed clients may need admin approval for the connector. Enable write actions such as sending email only where you really need them.
