What it does

Claude Code Studio wraps Anthropic's Claude Code CLI in a self-hosted web (and desktop) dashboard, letting you drive AI-assisted development from a browser or phone instead of a bare terminal. It streams chat responses, lets you paste screenshots and attach files, and keeps session memory across conversations.

What is inside

• A Kanban board for queuing and tracking tasks, with parallel and sequential execution
• A scheduler for one-off and recurring automations backed by 5 parallel workers
• "Bots": named specialists with their own system prompts and models that collaborate in a single chat
• Live terminal tabs for running CLI agents (Claude Code, Grok, etc.) inside the workspace
• Remote project access over SSH/SFTP, with cloudflared/ngrok tunneling
• Telegram bot control with push notifications, plus an activity dashboard (heatmaps, tool usage, automation stats)

Built around the Claude Code CLI; it can also launch other terminal CLI agents as tabs inside the same workspace.

Pricing

Claude Code Studio itself is free and open source (MIT), and self-hosting it costs nothing beyond your own server, container or desktop machine. It is only a dashboard, though: you still need a working Claude Code installation underneath, which means paying for whatever Claude Code plan or API usage you would otherwise need — this project adds no license fee on top of that.

How to install or connect

A desktop app (brew install --cask Lexus2016/claude-code-studio/claude-code-studio) and Docker (docker compose up -d --build) are also documented. It runs as a single Node.js process (Express + WebSocket) with a SQLite (WAL) database — no build step or framework required.

Maintenance and safety

MIT licensed and actively developed, but with a fairly small community (139 stars, 33 forks) and a single primary maintainer. It bundles bcrypt auth, AES-256-GCM encryption, Helmet.js hardening and path-traversal protection, but as a self-hosted server that can proxy your Claude Code sessions over a public tunnel, treat it like any other self-hosted admin panel: keep it patched, put it behind your own auth, and avoid exposing the tunnel URL more broadly than you need to.

Who should use it

Developers who already use Claude Code CLI and want a persistent, shareable, mobile-reachable workspace with task tracking and light multi-agent orchestration, rather than a single terminal window. The Telegram integration and remote SSH access make it a reasonable fit for someone who wants to check on or nudge a long-running coding task from a phone.
