What is Orca?
What it does
Orca is an application development environment (ADE) built around running several AI coding agents at once. Instead of driving one agent in one terminal, Orca spins up isolated git worktrees so Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode and other CLI agents can tackle the same prompt in parallel, and you compare their diffs side by side and merge the one you want.
What is inside
- Parallel worktrees so multiple agents run the same task concurrently without stepping on each other's changes
- WebGL-rendered terminal splits with infinite layout and persistent scrollback
- A mobile companion (iOS/Android) to monitor and steer running agents remotely
- Design Mode: click a UI element to inject its HTML/CSS straight into an agent's prompt
- Native GitHub and Linear integration for browsing tasks and PRs without leaving the app
- SSH support for running agents on remote machines with auto-reconnect
- Diff annotation so you can comment on agent-generated changes before committing
- Drag-and-drop file/image input, plus a CLI for scripting agent workflows
Works with
Any CLI-based coding agent — the README specifically calls out Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode running under your own existing subscriptions.
How to install or connect
brew install --cask stablyai/orca/orca
Desktop builds for macOS, Windows and Linux are also available from onorca.dev and GitHub releases; mobile companion apps ship on the iOS App Store, TestFlight and as an Android APK.
Maintenance and safety
Free and open source under the MIT license, backed by Y Combinator, with 77k+ stars, 11,700+ commits and a daily shipping cadence. Telemetry is collected but documented with an opt-out. Growth has been very fast (nearly 5,000 stars in a week); activity and commit history are consistent with organic, well-marketed adoption rather than inflated metrics.
Who should use it
Developers who already run multiple coding agents and want one place to fan work out across them, compare results, and steer things from a phone when away from the desk.
