About Cloudflare MCP Servers
What it does
Cloudflare runs a family of remote MCP servers that connect agents to a Cloudflare account. A useful one for vibe coders is the Workers Bindings server, which lets an agent set up KV, R2, D1 and other resources while it builds a Worker. After deploying, the Builds and Observability servers help the agent find out why a build failed or a request errored. This repository holds the product-specific servers and is Apache-2.0 licensed. The server Cloudflare now recommends, a "Code Mode" server that covers the whole Cloudflare API, lives in a separate repo, cloudflare/mcp.
Tools it gives your agent
- Code Mode (
mcp.cloudflare.com/mcp): three tools.docssearches the documentation, searchwrites JavaScript to find endpoints in the API spec, andexecutecalls those endpoints. Together they cover about 2,500 endpoints in roughly 1k tokens. - Workers Bindings, Workers Builds, Observability: build, check builds and query logs and analytics
- Browser Run: fetch pages as Markdown and take screenshots
- Containers: a sandboxed development environment
- Others: Documentation, AI Gateway, AutoRAG, Audit Logs, Logpush, DNS Analytics, Radar, CASB and Digital Experience Monitoring
Works with
Every server is remote and uses Streamable HTTP at /mcp. The old SSE transport now returns a 410 error. Any client that supports remote servers can connect, including Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and Gemini CLI. Connect only the servers you need, because each one adds tools to the agent's context.
How to connect
Documented config for the Code Mode server:
{ "mcpServers": { "cloudflare-api": { "type": "http", "url": "https://mcp.cloudflare.com/mcp" } } }
Product servers follow the same pattern, for example https://bindings.mcp.cloudflare.com/mcp or https://observability.mcp.cloudflare.com/mcp.
Cost and limits
The servers themselves are free. You need a Cloudflare account, and the README warns that some features need a paid Workers plan. Chatty servers such as Observability can fill a model's context quickly.
Safety notes
By default you sign in with OAuth and choose which permissions to grant. For CI or automation, you can instead pass a scoped Cloudflare API token as a bearer token. The Code Mode server can reach nearly the entire API, including DNS and firewall changes. Grant it the smallest set of permissions you can, and review any execute call that changes your account.
Pros
- Many focused servers
- Hosted with OAuth
Cons
- Cloudflare-specific
