About Archify
What it does
Archify is an Agent Skill that turns a codebase or a plain-text system description into an interactive diagram. The agent does not draw the SVG itself. It writes a typed JSON description of the system, and Archify's Node.js tooling checks it and compiles it into a single self-contained HTML file. You can ask for a diagram without a repository ("Browser -> API -> Redis -> PostgreSQL") or ask the agent to analyse a project first. You then refine it in chat, for example "move auth to the left".
What is inside
- Five diagram types: architecture, workflow, sequence, data flow and lifecycle, each with a schema.
- Validation before delivery: schema, layout, route and label checks must pass before a file replaces the last good version. Failures return machine-readable repair hints the agent can act on.
- Viewer features: search, upstream and downstream tracing, route probes, guided "stories", dark and light themes, and four visual presets.
- Exports: PNG, SVG, WebM and 1200×630 share cards.
- Architecture Delta: compares two snapshots as before, change and after, which is useful when reviewing a pull request.
- CLI commands:
guide,validate,preview(a loopback-only live preview) anddeliver.
Works with
The README documents Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor and OpenCode. It also covers uploading the skill to Claude.ai, the Raven harness, and a community DeepSeek Harness plugin. Node.js is needed for the full renderer.

Maintenance and safety
MIT licensed and very actively developed. The current version is a 2.17 development build. The skill runs Node scripts on your machine and writes HTML files. It may request a fixed manifest about every three days to show an optional update reminder. The README says this request sends no project data, and you can turn it off with ARCHIFY_UPDATE_CHECK_DISABLED=1. It never installs updates on its own.
Who should use it
Developers and tech leads who want accurate architecture or flow diagrams for docs, onboarding or design reviews, and who prefer checked, reproducible output to freehand Mermaid.
Pros
- Deterministic compile and validation with machine-readable repair hints
- Single-file HTML output with tracing, themes and PNG/SVG/WebM export
- Architecture Delta view for reviewing design changes
Cons
- Needs Node.js; optional update check pings a manifest unless disabled
