About Claude Code: Everything You Need to Know
What it does
Claude Code: Everything You Need to Know, by Wesam Mustafa, is a practical guide to Claude Code paired with a working example project. It walks from installation and a first prompt through prompt workflows, effort levels, slash commands, skills, hooks, subagents, agent teams, dynamic workflows and MCP. Unlike a link list, it explains when to use each extension point and when to skip it, with copyable examples.
What is inside
The guide is a long README with sections for beginners and power users, plus a docs/ folder with deeper references such as skill frontmatter. The repository's own .claude/ directory is a runnable setup: seven slash commands for PR hygiene, review, TDD, testing and UX checks; a claude-md-review skill that audits a CLAUDE.md for vague or dead instructions; five subagents; a dynamic workflow that audits stale docs; and Python hooks for tool use, notifications and session stop. A separate folder holds ten specialist role prompts, from backend engineer to business analyst, that can be dropped into .claude/agents/. Sections on the BMAD method and SuperClaude summarise third-party frameworks.
Works with
Claude Code. Many concepts carry over to other agents, but the commands, hooks and settings are written for Claude Code's file layout.
How to install
There is no package. Clone the repository and copy the files you want:
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/wesammustafa/Claude-Code-Everything-You-Need-to-Know /tmp/cc-guide
cp -r /tmp/cc-guide/.claude/commands/pr.md your-project/.claude/commands/ # take what you want
Maintenance and safety
MIT licensed and reviewed in July 2026, with a section tracking updates and deprecations. It is primarily educational, so treat it as a guide with samples rather than a maintained plugin. The author rightly warns to read each command, hook and agent before copying, and the hook settings contain a hardcoded path you must change.
Who should use it
Developers new to Claude Code, or those who have used it for a while but never set up skills, hooks or subagents. Experienced users will get more from the example .claude/ folder than from the prose.
Pros
- Explains when to use each extension point
- Runnable example commands, subagents, hooks and workflow
Cons
- A guide with samples, not an installable or versioned package
- Example hook settings need path edits before use
