About TeaQL Agent Kit
What it does
TeaQL Agent Kit is a reference "model-mediated harness" for coding agents. Instead of letting an agent jump straight from a plain-language requirement to code, it inserts an inspectable domain model (written in a compact language called KSML) between intent and implementation. A deterministic evaluation service checks the model and returns repair guidance, then a generation service turns the validated model into a typed API contract in one of seven languages. The agent implements business logic against that generated contract instead of inventing schema and persistence code from scratch, and every runtime operation carries identity, purpose and an audit trail.
What is inside
The repo ships as an installable Agent Skill (build-teaql-app) plus reference material: a compact KSML grammar example, toolchain bindings, and a definition of the evidence (compile, test, runtime, audit) required before an agent can report completion. The actual evaluator and multi-language generators live behind a hosted service (api.teaql.io) and seven open runtime repos (Java, Rust, Go, Swift, Python, C#/.NET, TypeScript), each with real integration tests against Postgres, MySQL, SQLite and more.
Works with
Any coding agent that supports Agent Skills, via the community skills CLI. Generated application code targets Java (Spring Boot/Quarkus/Micronaut), Rust, Go, Swift, Python, C#/.NET and TypeScript.
How to install or connect
npx skills add teaql/teaql-agent-kit --skill build-teaql-app
Then instruct your agent: Use $build-teaql-app to first draft and save a complete KSML model, then evaluate and repair it before generating a runnable TeaQL application: ...
Maintenance and safety
Actively developed, MIT licensed, most recent merge in September 2026, with a published cross-language runtime snapshot showing real test results per language/database pair.
Who should use it
Teams who want a coding agent to build data-backed CRUD applications against a disciplined, auditable domain model, and who are comfortable depending on TeaQL's hosted generation service plus its per-language runtime libraries.
Pros
- Real cross-language runtime evidence (7 languages, multiple databases) with a published, dated verification snapshot rather than just claimed support
- Actively maintained (196 commits, MIT licensed, most recent merge September 2026) with clear docs on the model-first workflow
Cons
- Adds real conceptual overhead (a KSML domain-modeling layer) on top of a normal prompt-to-code loop
- Full functionality depends on a hosted, closed generation service (api.teaql.io) rather than being fully self-contained
