What it is

Bolt.new is an AI app builder from StackBlitz that runs a complete development environment in the browser. Because the code actually runs there, the AI can install packages, start the dev server, read errors and fix them as it builds. You describe what you want, watch it being built, and then edit by chat or directly in the code. Bolt Cloud adds hosting, databases and user authentication so a project can go live without leaving the platform.

Bolt charges in tokens. At the time of writing (September 2026), the free plan includes 1M tokens a month with a 300K daily limit, plus hosting and databases. Pro is $25 a month and starts at 10M tokens with no daily limit; unused paid tokens roll over for one additional month. Teams is $30 per member per month, and Enterprise is custom. Verdict

Bolt's in-browser environment makes it better than most builders at catching and fixing its own errors, and the free tier is usable. Token consumption rises quickly as projects grow, so larger apps can get expensive, and mobile publishing still involves some manual steps outside Bolt.
