What it is

Lovable is a browser-based app builder that turns a written description into a working web application, then lets you keep changing it by chat, by visual edits or by editing the code. Projects come with a built-in backend called Lovable Cloud, which is based on Supabase's open-source foundation and provides a database, user authentication, storage and real-time updates without a separate account. You can also connect a Supabase project you own instead.

Skills, subagents and MCP

Lovable is not a coding agent you extend with Agent Skills or subagents. It does list MCP servers among its connectors, so the builder can pull in context from outside tools. The GitHub sync is the practical bridge to the wider ecosystem: once code is in a repository, you can continue with Claude Code, Cursor or any other agent.

Pricing

Lovable uses one credit balance for building, running hosted apps and AI features. At the time of writing (September 2026), there is a free plan with five build credits per day, and every plan includes monthly Cloud and AI grants. Pro starts at $25 a month for 100 monthly credits, with Business and Enterprise above it. Students and teachers can get 50% off the Pro 100-credit plan for up to 12 months. Verdict

Lovable is one of the quickest routes from an idea to a live app with a real backend, and the GitHub sync avoids lock-in. The main caveats are that credits go quickly during heavy iteration and that complex products still need an experienced developer.
