What is Rork?
What it is
Rork is an AI app builder focused on mobile. You describe the app you want in chat and Rork generates it, lets you try it on your own phone and helps you get it into the app stores. The company, with offices in San Francisco, Tbilisi and London, positions it as a way for people without coding experience to ship mobile apps and earn from them.
Rork now offers two build paths. The standard product generates cross-platform apps with React Native and Expo, covering iOS, Android and the web. Rork Max, the premium tier, generates native Swift apps for Apple platforms, and the homepage also describes native Kotlin output for Android.
Key features
- Mobile-first: builds iOS and Android apps rather than only websites
- Live preview on your own device while you build, including the Rork Max app for building and installing iOS apps on the go
- An AI App Store reviewer that checks for common rejection reasons before you submit
- Help with publishing to the App Store and Google Play
- Web app output as well as mobile
Skills, subagents and MCP
Rork is a hosted builder and does not document Agent Skills, subagents or MCP support. Extending it happens inside the product rather than through open standards.
Pricing
Rork has a free tier and paid plans that charge per message or credit, with Rork Max priced as a premium tier. The published plan names and amounts have changed several times, so check the Rork pricing page for current prices at the time of writing (September 2026). Remember that publishing to the stores also requires your own Apple and Google developer accounts, which are paid separately.
Who it is for
Founders, creators and small teams who want a real mobile app in the stores without learning Swift, Kotlin or React Native, and developers who want a fast mobile prototype.
Verdict
Rork is one of the few builders built around mobile apps rather than websites, and the device preview and store-review checks address real pain points. It is less useful if you mainly need web apps, and serious products will still need a developer to review the generated code, handle store policies and maintain the app over time.
Pros
- Mobile-first: real native apps
- Preview on your own phone
- App store publishing help
Cons
- Check current plan prices on the site before you commit
- Affiliate terms unverified
