About Agents
What it does
Agents is a small collection of shared standards and reusable skills for AI coding agents that read the AGENTS.md or SKILL.md format. It has two parts. There is a project-agnostic AGENTS.md base you copy into a repository and extend with your own structure, commands and domain notes, plus a separate user-level file for personal collaboration preferences. Alongside those sit a set of cross-agent skills, each a directory with a SKILL.md and optional resources, covering writing tasks, planning, scoped changes, and delegation to other CLIs.
What is inside
- Base guidelines: a project
AGENTS.mdand a user-level preferences file kept separate from it - Writing skills: product-writing, ux-writing, marketing-copy and x-content for accurate copy and docs
- Planning and change control: ask-to-plan for turning an idea into a plan, and scoped-change to keep an edit to the requested size
- Delegation skills: codex-cli, grok-cli and antigravity-cli for handing bounded work to another agent and inspecting the result
- Workflow helpers: worktree-pr for isolating a task in a worktree, plus a packaging script that zips a skill for upload
Works with
Claude Code and Codex CLI are called out, and any agent that reads the AGENTS.md or SKILL.md format can use the skills.
How to install
Install a skill with either CLI, for example:
gh skill install scarletkc/agents --agent codex --scope user
Or with the skills CLI: npx skills add scarletkc/agents -g.
Maintenance and safety
The repository is Apache-2.0 licensed with attribution in a NOTICE file, and it is actively maintained with a test suite that checks the bundled runtime copies stay in sync. The skills are plain files you can read before installing. A couple of entries are personal to the author, such as one that imitates the maintainer's writing voice, so pick the skills that suit you rather than installing all of them.
Who should use it
It suits developers who want a clean base AGENTS.md and a handful of well-written skills for planning, scoped edits and copy, usable across more than one coding agent. It is a curated starting set rather than a large catalog.
Pros
- Reusable base AGENTS.md plus focused skills
- Skills for planning, scoped changes and delegation
- Maintained with a test suite and clear format
Cons
- A couple of skills are personal to the author
- Small set rather than a large catalog
