About ECC (Everything Claude Code)

What it does

ECC, formerly known as Everything Claude Code and maintained by GitHub user affaan-m, is a large system for configuring coding agents. It installs a complete way of working: plan, write tests, implement, review from a fresh context, verify, and remember what worked. It also includes hooks that enforce these steps and a "continuous learning" layer that turns repeated wins into new skills and instincts. The project focuses on Claude Code but has adapters for many other agents.

What is inside

  • About 290 skills: TDD, research, security, documentation, frontend, data, ML and operations.
  • 68 agents: specialised for planning, code review, build repair, security, architecture and domain work.
  • 94 legacy command shims: kept while the project moves to a skills-first design.
  • Hooks and memory: session summaries, context controls and enforcement profiles you can pick during setup.
  • Rule packs: always-on standards by language or framework, copied in by hand.
  • AgentShield: a scanner for prompts, hooks, MCP configuration, permissions, secrets and agent files.
  • A setup wizard: installs, updates, moves or repairs ECC, and can run as a dry run.

Works with

Claude Code gets the full feature set. Codex has a native plugin path, and the wizard also sets up Kimi Code. The README describes limited adapters for Cursor, OpenCode, Gemini, Zed, GitHub Copilot, Antigravity, Qwen and others, with a support matrix showing which features each gets.

Maintenance and safety

MIT licensed and updated weekly by one main maintainer with community help. A paid ECC Pro GitHub App covers private repositories. The plugin adds hooks that run scripts during your sessions, so review the hook profile you choose. The README warns that copycat packages exist and to install only from the official repository and npm packages. It also warns against stacking several install methods, which can duplicate skills and hooks.

Who should use it

Experienced Claude Code users who want an opinionated, all-in-one harness and are willing to learn it. Newcomers may prefer a smaller skill pack first, because the full install adds a lot of context and behaviour at once.

Pros

  • Complete plan-test-review-verify workflow with enforcement hooks
  • Guided setup wizard with dry-run, repair and uninstall
