About Marketing Skills
What it does
Marketing Skills, by Corey Haines, is a library of Agent Skills for founders and technical marketers who already use coding agents. It is aimed at the work that comes after the product is built. Instead of generic advice, the agent follows a written playbook for tasks like auditing a landing page for conversions, adding analytics tracking, writing schema markup or planning a launch. A shared product-marketing skill records your product, audience and positioning once, and every other skill reads it first.
What is inside
The library has around fifty skills in seven groups:
- SEO and content: SEO audit, AI search optimisation, site architecture, programmatic SEO, schema markup, content strategy and app store optimisation
- Conversion: CRO, signup, onboarding, popups and paywalls
- Copy: copywriting, copy editing, cold email, lifecycle emails, social, SMS, image and video
- Paid and measurement: ads, ad creative, A/B testing, analytics and attribution
- Growth and retention: referrals, free tools, churn prevention, community and lead magnets
- Sales and go-to-market: RevOps, sales enablement, launch, pricing, competitor pages, directory submissions and prospecting
- Strategy: marketing ideas, psychology, customer research and plans
Skills link to one another, so copywriting, CRO and A/B testing can build on the same context.
Works with
The skills use the standard SKILL.md format and install into any Agent Skills-compatible agent. The README covers Claude Code and OpenAI Codex, and it also offers a Claude Code plugin.
How to install
npx skills add coreyhaines31/marketingskills
In Claude Code you can also run /plugin marketplace add coreyhaines31/marketingskills and then /plugin install marketing-skills.
Maintenance and safety
The library is MIT licensed and actively maintained, with community pull requests. The skills are mostly instructions. Some link to paid tools, and the README lists sponsored "verified partners" next to neutral options, so check any tool a skill recommends. Skills that set up tracking or edit pages change your site code, so review those diffs like any other.
Who should use it
Indie hackers, founders and small teams who build their own product with an AI coding agent and want the same agent to help with marketing. Engineers who need to act as their own marketer will also find it useful.
Pros
- Shared product-marketing context read by every skill
- Covers implementation tasks like tracking, schema and signup flows
- Multiple install routes including a Claude Code plugin
Cons
- Mostly marketing strategy rather than software engineering
- README promotes sponsored partner tools alongside neutral options
